  • Teach your skills to others
  • Enhance your resume
  • Enhance college and/or scholarship applications
  • Give back to the community
  • Explore new career paths
  • Meet people with similar interests
  • Acquire job or college references
  • Have fun!

Event Planning

CVCH organizes and attends various community events throughout the year. Volunteers will have the opportunity to help with event preparation and planning, setup and tear down, managing participants and attendees and disseminating event information to name a few. Volunteers should be organized, timely, reliable and have a passion for interacting with community members.

Advocacy

During legislative sessions, issues that directly impact community health centers and the services offered at CVCH are placed in danger of being cut or underfunded. We need advocates to be the voice of community health centers and the people they serve. Collecting signatures, gathering stories and educating the public are all examples of the type of advocacy work volunteers can do at Columbia Valley Community Health.

Administrative Duties

Volunteers can choose to work in an office setting with administrative duties. This includes writing letters, sending emails, updating rosters, data entry, and other general office duties. Volunteers should be detail oriented, thorough and excellent communicators.

Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run Columbia Valley is an affiliate of CVCH. It’s an after school program focused on instilling positive messages to young girls through the power of running. Volunteers can be junior coaches, run with the girls in their final 5k or help with GOTR events in the community.
